In 2011, when rich investors from the Middle East took over the Ligue 1 team, PSG began buying famous players every year and tried to strengthen their squad as much as possible.

The Financial Times reports that during this period, the Paris team spent over 2.3 billion euros.

A similar amount has been allocated to their players by the current Manchester City management over 16 years.
