FIFA is currently struggling to convince sports fans in the U.S. to actively buy tickets to the World Club Cup tournament.
The football organization is also not helped by the decision to significantly reduce ticket prices.
It is estimated that during the first 16 tournament matches, there were as many as 423,000 empty seats in the stadiums.
This means that the arenas reached only 56.8% capacity.
FIFA can only lament that this number, considering the number of fans, is not particularly small, amounting to 556,369 fans.
The attendance record low was set in the match between Ulsan HD and Mamelodi Sundowns clubs – with 3,412 fans or 13.6% of the Inter and Co stadium's seats.
