Brazilian Neymar, trying to regain the glory of the past, attempted to deceive the referee in a local championship match.

The 33-year-old forward, in a match against "Botafogo," hit the ball with his hand into the goal during a scramble near the net while the score was 0:0.

The referee had no intentions of being lenient and showed the star a second yellow card, sending him off the field.

With a numerical advantage, "Botafogo" scored the decisive goal and celebrated a 1:0 victory.

Although Neymar initially tried to express surprise at the referee's decision, he later admitted his mistake and apologized to fans on social media.
