"Žalgiris” defense has been joined by another player – defender Vasilije Radenovičius from Montenegro has arrived in Vilnius.

The 31-year-old player joined the Lithuanian champions after a season in Azerbaijan.

The experienced footballer has also represented teams from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Germany.

He began his football journey in Danilovgrad and took his first steps in professional football with the Serbian second division team "Kolubara” in Lazarevac.

Later he played for "Proleter” from Novi Sad, with whom he fought for a place in the Serbian Super League, as well as for the team "Žarkovo”, the German team "Lichtenauer”, and "Jagodina” from Serbia.

From 2021 to 2023, V. Radenovičius spent time in his native Montenegro, playing for "Jezero” and "Petrovac”, before representing the Bosnian and Herzegovinian club Gabela GOŠK.

In the previous 2024-2025 season, the Montenegrin played for the Azerbaijani club Baku "Şamachi” (formerly "Keşla” / "Inter”), where many members of the Lithuanian national team have previously played.

Recently, Younnas Zahary and Vytis Pavilonis have been unable to play in the "Žalgiris” defense due to injuries, while Thomas Basila is out due to suspension.

The Vilnius team also added Croatian defender Luka Dumančičius in June, and experienced striker Liviu Antalis returned to the team.

"Žalgiris” will play their next match on Tuesday, June 24, against Kauno rajono "Hegelmann”.
